EMAC Supplemental Regulations
Attached please find a recent letter presented to the Department of Unemployment Assistance with regard to the ongoing EMAC issue by the BTEA et al who continue to work to address this matter. Communications received regarding EMAC have been beneficial to the BTEA and they ask that we continue to send them whatever we can, so please forward to us and we will send on to them accordingly.

Employee Training
The North Atlantic States Carpenters provide extensive training through their state-certified apprenticeship training and journeyman upgrading programs. Apprentices and journeymen receive classroom and practical training courses through the North Atlantic States Carpenters Training Facility in Millbury or at one of several regional training sites. Courses covering the major areas of concentration include concrete form construction, metal stud framing and drywall, acoustical ceilings, all forms of floorcovering and ceramic tile installation, door and hardware installation, cabinet making, architectural millwork, finish carpentry, general carpentry and woodframe construction, piledriving, dock building and diving, and office work station installation.
Safety
The North Atlantic States Carpenters are focused on working with contractor associations and industry leaders to ensure that every member receives proper training to enable him/her to work safely and efficiently. Safety programs in scaffold erection, 10- and 30-hour OSHA, and Hazmat are currently being offered through the training centers.
Qualified Labor
The North Atlantic States Carpenters pride themselves on providing highly skilled and trained carpenters to more than 1,500 signatory employers throughout New England. The four-year apprenticeship program and ongoing journeyman upgrading classes provide our members with the skills and training they need to stay in step with the ever-changing products and the applications they encounter on the job site. The commitment of the North Atlantic States Carpenters to training is reflected in the thousands of hours and $8 million spent annually on helping our members to obtain and improve the skills they need in today’s competitive workplace, making the North Atlantic States Carpenters second to none in the field.
